The 2010 legislative session will soon be underway. Cooperative Network will host the second annual Co-op Day at the Capitol on Thursday, February 18. Our inaugural event last year was a great success with 75 participants. Once again this year we are inviting cooperative leaders from across Minnesota to meet with legislators in St. Paul and tell them about the important role cooperatives play in Minnesota’s economy and how current issues affect your business.
After hearing about some of the key issues facing cooperatives during a late morning briefing session and having a box lunch we will provide, you will have the opportunity to visit with your legislators and discuss these issues with them. Cooperative Network will create cross-industry sector teams for meetings and will schedule those meetings for you. If you would like to schedule your own meetings, please let us know the time of the meeting and who it is with so we can create cross industry teams for your meetings and ensure we have enough handouts. We will also host an evening reception for legislators, colleague organizations, state agency commissioners and staff at the Kelly Inn, located two blocks from the Capitol.
