This year, Cooperative Network will join cooperatives throughout the country in celebrating October Co-op Month using the theme "Local. Trusted. Serving You." to highlight how cooperatives are tied to their communities and operate differently than for profit businesses. Because "Local. Trusted. Serving You." delivers a positive and powerful message about cooperatives in these difficult economic times, Cooperative Network will use the theme developed by the National Co-op Month Committee instead of coming up with its own theme like it has in the past several years. The National Co-op Month Committee has also developed a logo, ad slicks and other excellent marketing tools and ideas that Cooperative Network encourages its members to use. October provides an excellent opportunity for cooperatives to educate the public, opinion leaders and their members about the many advantages of cooperative membership.
