RE: Minnesota Cooperative Youth Leadership Conference
We are pleased to announce that the Minnesota Cooperative Youth Leadership Conference will be held
March 16-17, 2009, at the Radisson Hotel, Roseville, Minnesota. High School students (grades 10, 11, 12)
are eligible to participate in this exciting and educational program. We proudly offer this program as an
opportunity for young people to develop an understanding and appreciation of the purpose, operation and
scope of cooperative business. A real, working cooperative will be formed and operate during the conference.
Students will also learn from speakers with powerful messages about leadership and the value of cooperation.
And, the conference provides an opportunity for students to develop new friendships and meet youth leaders
from all over the state.
Due to the generous contributions from foundations and member cooperatives, we are able to offer this twoday
conference for only $150 per person. The registration fee covers food, lodging, speaker fees, conference
t-shirt, and educational materials. You can help youth from your area learn valuable lessons about
cooperatives by sending them to this conference. Agriculture instructors in your area have received
information about the conference, and we anticipate they will help select students to attend the conference.
Students that are members of 4-H, DECA, Future Business Leaders, FHA/HERO, VICA, HOSA and other
groups would also be excellent representatives to the conference.
Below are a program and registration forms for students and chaperons (make additional copies as needed).
Completed registration forms with payment and signed parental permission must be received at the
Cooperative Network Madison office no later than February 20, 2009. Please contact your local agriculture
instructor, business education teacher, vocational student organization advisors and 4-H leaders to let them
know you would like to sponsor students to the Minnesota Cooperative Youth Leadership Conference in
Roseville.
