The 2012 Employment Law Workshops are packed with information and insight into today's constantly changing employment law. In today's business climate, one mistake is too many. The areas where you need to be legally up-to-date are endless. You need to constantly broaden your skills and knowledge. The highly qualified instructors for these workshops will provide you with an overview of the most pressing issues.

The workshop will provide you with case studies and necessary information related to difficult legal challenges you could potentially face.

Key Topics:

Legal Update
Supreme Court Decisions—Be careful in meddling with workplace romance.

Privacy—Courts grant more leeway to employers, but...

The ADA Amendments cases are finally here, and they are more dificult than you thought.

Key Warnings from Last Year's Court Decisions
Every year key court cases reveal errors that HR, supervisors and managers could have avoided. Some decisions also involve personal liability, and these risks might have been avoided if the supervisors and managers had only conferred with HR before they acted, and for that matter, if HR had, in certain instances, sought advice before taking action. Be aware of new risk areas for personal liability.

The Newest Liability Areas—Your Liability for Employee's
Off the Clock Acts

Off the clock is not off the hook for liability.

What is "off the clock" for wage and hours and FMLA purposes?

Why can customers or the public sue the company and the HR Director
personally, for employees' non-paid-time acts?

Are you liable for what a worker did on vacation?

Can an employer fire workers (including you) for "private" activities off the job (blogs, chat rooms, social activities)?

Wage and Hour Reminders
Update on the key factors which are generating liability under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Wisconsin wage claims process.
