Who Should Attend?
Senior staff and directors from electric, farm supply, grain, dairy, and fuel cooperatives in Minnesota and Wisconsin and other interested professionals within the cooperative community, including lenders and attorneys.

Session Overview
Cooperative Network is hosting this program in conjunction with the 2012 Twin-Cities based CoBank Customer Meeting. This program will focus on key dynamics that are certain to affect cooperative business activities and also lead to business development opportunities in areas principally served by cooperatives. Participants will hear the Federal Reserve's latest perspective on our economy and also learn about key energy exploration and infrastructure projects that have and could further reshape regional energy markets. Additionally, a key player in Washington is expected to address federal agricultural and rural economic policies currently being debated in our nation's capital, including the U.S. Farm Bill and economic development initiatives. There will also be a presentation that explores the relevance of the latest census demographics and their potential implications for cooperatives.

The Speakers
The "Tides of Change in Rural America Program" includes a lineup of recognized subjectmatter experts and experienced political leaders. During this program you will hear from a state demographer who analyzes the trends in populations, an economist from the Minneapolis Federal Reserve, and national experts who will discuss major petroleum technologies. An influential cooperative farm organization will discuss today's key agricultural and energy issues.

These speakers represent a diverse group of experts with local and national expertise. They will present their perspectives on the issues affecting the stability of our rural economies down to the local cooperative level.
